An exclusive event celebrating the authenticity, traceability, and regulatory framework behind Italy’s DOC and DOCG wines

HOUSTON, USA (October 6, 2026) – Federdoc, the Confederation representing the consortia of Italian wine denominations, will bring its educational and promotional program to Houston with an exclusive event dedicated to the value, authenticity, and traceability of Italian DOC and DOCG wines.

Hosted at the Hilton Post Oak, the event will bring together wine professionals, trade representatives, media, hospitality leaders, and influential consumers for an intimate celebration of Italian wine. As part of a two-city initiative in Houston and Chicago, the program is expected to welcome approximately 200 guests in Houston, creating opportunities for education, meaningful exchange, and connection.

Guests will discover a selection of Italian DOC and DOCG wines while exploring Federdoc’s educational materials and resources. The initiative will highlight how Italian wines represent more than geographical origin: they embody a structured system of regulations, traceability, collective responsibility, and cultural heritage developed and protected over generations.

A highlight of the program will be the exclusive masterclass presented by Federdoc,

“Traceability and Regulation of Italian DOC and DOCG Wines: Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Lugana DOC, and Frascati DOC.”

Featuring the participation of Steven McDonald MS, Master Sommelier and Executive Wine Director of Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Houston and Dallas, his participation will bring valuable industry expertise to the discussion, connecting the principles of Italian wine regulations and protected designations with the perspectives of leading wine professionals and the hospitality sector.
