In August, the association will be in Texas and California for tastings and a masterclass dedicated to Amarone and Valpolicella
Verona, August 2026 — Famiglie Storiche, the association bringing together thirteen historic Valpolicella wineries dedicated to promoting Amarone and the region's winemaking culture, continues its international outreach. This August, the association travels to the United States for two prestigious events aimed at wine professionals, sommeliers, buyers, and opinion leaders in the wine world.
San Francisco — Fairmont Hotel | August 26
The U.S. presence continues August 26 in San Francisco at the prestigious Fairmont Hotel, where Famiglie Storiche will host a full day dedicated to the excellence of Valpolicella. The event includes a masterclass moderated by Paul Wagner, one of the most respected wine experts and communicators in the United States, followed by an extensive walkaround tasting for trade professionals.
Together, the two stops represent an important opportunity to strengthen the association's presence in one of the most strategic markets for Italian wine, and to tell the story of contemporary Amarone — a central theme in Famiglie Storiche's work.
“The United States has always been a fundamental market for Amarone and for the wineries in our association. Through high-profile events like TexSom and the San Francisco masterclass, we want to continue engaging with industry professionals — sharing not only our wines, but also the culture, history, and knowledge that make Valpolicella unique,”
says Luca Speri, President of Famiglie Storiche.
Through tastings, meetings, and educational moments, the American events will give industry professionals the chance to explore the many expressions of Amarone and to get to know more closely the work of Famiglie Storiche, dedicated every day to championing one of Italy's most important fine wines.
